Williams Parker Shareholder Charles “Dan” Bailey Inducted into the Community Video Archives 2017 Hall of Fame

Williams Parker is pleased to announce shareholder Charles “Dan” D. Bailey, Jr. has been inducted into the Community Video Archives (CVA) 2017 Hall of Fame. Additional inductees include Sarasota Ballet Director Iain Webb, architect Guy Peterson, and Judge Lee Haworth. Inductees were honored at the CVA’s annual Hall of Fame luncheon, held April 24 at Michael’s On East in Sarasota. The mission of CVA is to record and preserve a living history of the community. Now in its 27th year, the organization has produced more than 160 video biographies of Sarasota residents and their accomplishments.

Mr. Bailey, a sixth generation Floridian, is a land use and local government attorney with Williams Parker. He counsels private and public entities, including nonprofit organizations, regarding land use planning and zoning in Sarasota County, including: the handling of site plans; variances; administrative appeals; special exceptions and conditional uses; rezonings; zoning text amendments; street vacations; comprehensive plan amendments; development agreements; and developments of regional impact. Mr. Bailey serves as general counsel to the Sarasota-Manatee Airport and Authority; and previously served as counsel for Sarasota Memorial Hospital and the Sarasota County Clerk of Court. Among his many civic activities, he is currently one of three board members for The Patterson Foundation—one of the state’s largest and most progressive foundations; and he serves on the Community Leadership Council of the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee; and the Community Board of the Sarasota Regional Campus of the Florida State University College of Medicine. His prior civic activities include service either as president or as chairman of the Sarasota Chapter of the American Red Cross, the United Way of Sarasota County, the Sarasota Tiger Bay Club, the Sarasota County Bar Association, the William G. & Marie Selby Foundation, and SCOPE (Sarasota County Openly Plans for Excellence).
