Shareholder Presents at Specialized Employment Law Workshop

December 7, 2015

Kim Walker, a Williams Parker Shareholder, and board certified attorney in Labor and Employment Law, recently teamed with experienced labor and employment attorneys as a speaker for the Sarasota County Bar Association and the Labor & Employment Law Section’s “Employment Law Guidance for Law Firms.”

The presentation, hosted at Michael’s on East, spanned an entire day and addressed employment law topics common to law firms, including wage and hour, hiring practices, employee performance, and termination issues.

“Being an employer is increasingly complex. That is true for professional service firms as well. Employers in any field need to be cognizant of the laws and changing regulations,” commented Walker. Specializing in representing employers in employment-related litigation and providing practical, effective risk management advice, Walker was the primary presenter for “Hiring the Right Way” and the “Winning Unemployment Claims.”

“Kim is the firm’s Labor and Employment practice leader and an expert in all aspects of labor and employment law,” noted Ric Gregoria, president of Williams Parker. “It is inherent in our firm’s culture for our attorneys to share their expertise generously with colleagues throughout the area. Kim is a prime example of this culture and a great resource for the community.”
