Myers to Present at ABA Midyear Meeting

On January 25, Williams Parker attorney Carol L. Myers will serve on a speaker’s panel at the ABA Section of Taxation Midyear Meeting, which will discuss “Employee Benefits, Multiple Employers, PEOs, and Controlled Groups.”

This panel will begin with a brief discussion of recent developments relating to multiple employer plans (MEPs), including highlights from the recent GAO report (GAO-12-665) and government response to the report, as well as an update on the status of Open MEPs. In addition, panelists will discuss and debunk common myths and misconceptions relating to professional employer organizations (PEOs) and will also discuss issues relating to association MEPs. The panel will close with a discussion of the impact and utilization of MEPs in the health and welfare arena and Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) implications.
