From residential real estate closings to complex commercial transactions, our real estate team has provided counsel on a full range of matters, including financing, taxation, land use, planned development, condominiums, and contracting, to our area’s real estate professionals, buyers, sellers, developers, and investors since our founding in 1925.

Williams Parker’s impact on the real estate community and the evolution of Sarasota dates back to our founding partners and includes the development of many local residential communities, including The Meadows, The Landings, The Plantation Golf and Country Club, Palm Aire, Colonial Oaks, Pelican Cove, Bird Bay, and much of Longboat Key and Bay Isles.

We also assist new residents in establishing residency and transitioning estates to take advantage of Florida’s favorable tax climate and asset protection laws.

Our real estate team includes 15 attorneys–nine of whom are board certified as specialists in real estate or condominium and planned development law–and 14 real estate paralegals and legal assistants.



Williams Parker Shareholder Charlie Bailey Represents Greenpointe Communities in Sarasota Quay Redevelopment

Williams Parker land use attorney Charlie Bailey recently participated in the infrastructure groundbreaking ceremony for the Quay Sarasota Waterfront District. Mr. Bailey represents GreenPointe Communities, owner and developer of the property. Plans for the $1-billion mixed-use redevelopment of the nearly 15-acre former Quay site include 695 residential units, 175 hotel rooms, 38,972 square feet of office space, and 189,050 square feet of commercial space.

Mr. Bailey counsels developers and landowners on a variety of land use matters, including developments of regional impact, comprehensive plan amendments, rezonings, special exceptions, conditional use approvals, site plan approvals, variances, and development agreements addressing concurrency issues. Mr. Bailey has been involved in a significant number of development projects throughout Sarasota. He handled the development of Whole Foods at University and Honore; represents national and local homebuilders, such as Taylor Morrison, Pulte/DiVosta Homes, DR Horton, Kolter Homes, WCI, Tivoli Homes, and John Cannon Homes, and multi-family community developer A.G. Spanos Companies; and has handled zoning and other permitting for projects like West Villages, Sarasota National, Palmer Ranch, the LT Ranch, and the Forest Lakes and Sunrise golf courses redevelopments.
