Land Use, Development & Local Government
We have been active participants in and contributors to the area’s growth since our formation in 1925. Much of our land use, development, and local government practice’s success is attributable to our extensive network of personal and professional relationships. Clients seek us because they know we understand the community and how things work at the local level.
Our practitioners represent private sector clients before municipal and county boards and commissions on a variety of zoning, permitting, and land use issues, as well as in administrative proceedings and hearings before other governmental bodies. In addition to our work representing private interests obtaining governmental approvals and permits, we are also regularly engaged to advise local governmental entities.
Our land use attorneys typically work with our real estate attorneys on development projects. Representation in this area also includes meeting all environmental, public participation, and legal prerequisites for comprehensive plan amendments, zoning amendments and interpretation, land division, public improvement requirements, and environmental reviews.
