Daniel focuses on estate planning, business succession planning, and estate and trust administration.
Areas of experience include:
- Drafting complex estate plans for taxable estates including charitable planning and multi-generational trusts designed to maximize estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning for individuals and their families
- Advising international clients and implementing estate plans for international clients in coordination with foreign counsel as well as administering foreign estates with U.S. situs assets including preparation of federal estate tax returns for nonresidents
- Preparation of federal estate tax returns for high net worth estates including 6166 elections, Graegin loans, business valuation discounts, and similar strategies
- Implementing efficient gifting strategies for business succession including Family Limited Partnerships and similar structures
Daniel’s prior experience includes advising clients on international tax planning and controversy-related matters, including inbound and outbound transactions, international estate planning, cross-border business transactions, and disclosure of foreign accounts. He previously traveled to Zurich, Switzerland to assist in the representation of Swiss banks entering the U.S. Department of Justice Program for Non-Prosecution Agreements or Non-Target Letters for Swiss Banks.
