Williams Parker is Proud to Support U.S. Navy Pilot Ryan Rankin in His Quest to Fly 52 Distinct Planes in 52 Weeks

March 22, 2017

Williams Parker is proud to sponsor active-duty U.S. Navy pilot Ryan Rankin in his quest to fly 52 distinct planes throughout 2017. As a New Year’s resolution and to fulfill his passion for aviation, Rankin has set out to fly 52 different types of aircraft in the span of a year – one for each week. In order to accomplish his mission, Rankin will travel across the United States, as well as internationally to Poland and the United Kingdom. He will fly a wide variety of aircraft, from vintage, open-canopy planes to more common aircraft like the Cessna 172 or Piper Warrior. Each week, Rankin’s journey will be documented in an SRQ Daily series entitled “From the Cockpit,” as well as on his blog, Ryan Flies.

Rankin was born and raised in Sarasota, Florida, and has had an admiration for aircraft since childhood. He is currently stationed in Pensacola, Florida, flying the T-6A Texan II as an instructor pilot. He holds Civilian Instrument, Single/Multi-Engine Commercial Ratings, and Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) licenses, as well as a Tail Wheel Endorsement. Additionally, he is the co-founder of Air to Ground Design, an aviation furniture company which makes 100% hand-crafted products.
