Zachary B. Buffington

Zach focuses his practice in the areas of business law and health law.

He represents business owners and executives in connection with acquisitions, sales, mergers, joint ventures, and investments as well as corporate governance and operational matters. Zach also serves as general counsel to the Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County. With respect to his health law practice, Zach advises individual physicians and physician groups and various businesses involved in the healthcare industry including a purchasing cooperative and a regional supply chain management organization. He is a key member of the firm’s legal team that serves Sarasota County Public Hospital District and the District’s affiliated entities.

Along with other community work and activities, Zach serves as a Director of the Sarasota County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, and he is a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Sarasota program.

Zach earned his law degree from Stetson University College of Law and served as a member of Stetson Law Review. In addition, he earned his M.B.A. from Stetson University, where he was selected for membership in Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society. Zach was invited to join the firm immediately following law school.

Board certification is The Florida Bar’s highest level of evaluation of competency and experience. Certification recognizes an attorney’s special knowledge, skills, and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in practice. It is designed to help consumers identify specialists in various areas of law. Only 6% of eligible Florida Bar members are board certified. Not all qualified lawyers are certified, but those who are board certified have taken extra steps to have their competence and experience evaluated.
